About

My name is Carla Heavilon and I have worked in the animal care field for many years from kennel attendant to groomer to veterinary assistant/technician.  I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor’s degree in biology and I continue to have a passion for learning. I became a member of Pet Sitters International in 2010 and a Certified Professional Pet Sitter in 2014. I am constantly expanding my knowledge with continuing education so that I am better able to serve clients and their pets. I am certified in pet first aid and CPR. My experience working at veterinary clinics trained me to be observant to any physical issues a pet may have and how to respond to emergencies.

I realize that no one can care for your pets like you do but I strive to offer customized care so that your pets can feel comfortable in their normal routines.

I currently share my life with my dog Toby and cats Callie and Ziggy. Toby enjoys car rides, snacks and meeting new people. Callie is my elderly girl who loves Toby but doesn’t care for other cats. Ziggy is the baby of the family, and he loves to play with Toby and learn from Callie.

When I am not caring for pets I enjoy reading, hiking, kayaking and volunteering with Kent County Search and Rescue.
